Additional Opportunities

ADOPT-A-School for the Annenberg Center's Philadelphia International Children's Festival

Ticket subsidies will allow you to underwrite the costs of attendance and transportation for children in low-income neighborhoods and under-performing schools, with an emphasis on the School District of Philadelphia.  Recently, this has become an even more critical need as many schools no longer have the budget for field trips – especially transportation.

The Annenberg Center is the home of the oldest children’s festival in the nation, which runs for five days providing young people valuable and rare opportunities to experience high quality art created expressly for them –  theatre, music, dance and, new in 2010, film. Taking place in all the venues at the Annenberg Center – Zellerbach Theatre, Prince Theatre and Bruce Montgomery Studio – it also includes hands on activities in the lobby and outdoors.

Without the support of the community – foundations, individuals and corporations – the Children's Festival would not continue to remain affordable to schools and the students they serve. Budget constraints prevent many schools from providing music or performing arts programs, and attendance at the Children's Festival is often their only opportunity to experience high-quality live performing art.
